Ely North Councillor Learn more

Serious accidents, minor accidents, racing along the road and half of Kings Avenue hasn’t been adopted by the County Council.
What happens if there is damage to the road, who will pay? There is no doubt that Barratt Homes would love to disclaim any responsibility for the road, while the County Council lack desire to tie up these loose ends.
Of course it is not just Kings Avenue, but the whole of the Cathedral View development that has not been adopted.
It is time for the County Council and Barratt Homes to get their act together. I will shortly be arranging a petition:
We call upon Barratt Homes and Cambridgeshire County Council, as a matter of urgency, to resolve any outstanding issues with Kings Avenue and to complete the adoption of the road.
Perhaps once the road is adopted, it will be possible to make improvements to the safety of the road – improvements that should never have been necessary.
